Bed rest really gets a person thinking about how few exciting pajama options there are out there.

I’m really sorry that I still haven’t posted, I have not become addicted to muscle relaxants as you probably thought, but I have become very fond of bed rest, so it could be another week before I am able to post properly.

That’s what I get for trying to be macho.

I know I’ve been a bit derelict in my posting duties, but I’ve been injured in a lumber-jacking accident and am all whacked out on muscle relaxants. Barring becoming addicted to my special sleepy-time helpers, I should be back to regular posting by the end of the week.

I may be on my own here.

I am alternately interested in and repulsed by table skirts. They seem like the most ridiculous thing ever invented, but I can’t help feeling that there’s potential in them somewhere. What are they for? So you don’t see the table legs? A bit Victorian, no? Showing leg is not acceptable but being topless is okay? I mean why would you use a table skirt and then not cover the top of the table?

Surfing is really cool and we all wish we could do it, but surfers are goofs.

Hippies are annoying, but esthetically, I’ll take a hippie any day. Beach combing, homemade yogurt, lean-to’s, dirty kids. Makes for a pleasing seaside town with good whole grain bread.

With the surfers all you’ve got is dude, new cars, locals only, board shorts.

Have we talked about Portland yet?

It’s great. They have lots of good: food, neighborhoods, rock and roll bands, shopping. Add a generous dollop of ambiguous sexuality, a couple of nice boutique hotels, free poured drinks and you have yourself a party.

I know that I said I wasn’t talking about the shows, but I just want to say that I think I like Vivienne Westwood. The T-shirts and the message-y stuff have got to go, and ya ya punk rock whatever, but I’m really drawn to her stuff when I see it on the rack. Here’s spring 2008. Am I crazy?
