Erdem

I have mixed feelings about the Erdem spring 2009 collection. On one hand I think some of the shapes and colours are very fresh. On the the other hand I am not a big fan of the Monet-ish prints. My high school grad dress had a very Monet inspired washy floral print that was very hot in 1990, but seems a little fey in 2008. It kind of reminds me of something you would buy in a museum gift shop, know what I mean? I felt this way about the Prada fairies of last year.

I am really ashamed of my last post because of the TV-heavy content. And everyone knows that if you want to sound smart, don’t talk about television shows. Especially basic cable shows. It was a lazy post, and I apologize.

Meanwhile over at the You tubes, you can watch this great documentary, Signe Chanel. It’s not in any particular order but I have confidence that you can muddle through it. I am not one to usually recommend fashion documentaries but when you get to the part about the lady who makes the braid for Chanel you will thank me. That lady changed my life.

Winnipeg, Tyra Banks etc.

I know I have been away and so I should write about what I have seen that is profound and interesting. But I was in Winnipeg and Minneapolis soooo…

I’m going to talk about Gossip Girl instead. I was really interested in the clothes in that show last season (so preppy, so eccentric) and so when I was in the USA I bought a gold headband at J. Crew and I wear it all the time. But last night I was watching America’s Next Top Model (clearing of throat) and Tyra told one of the models to take her gold headband off because it was too Gossip Girl.

I’m confused. And I don’t know why all of a sudden I would listen to what Tyra Banks has to say, but it made me question my judgement just a little bit. Am I too old for the gold headband? Am I too old for TV?
