Romeo Gigli is back and I am pretty excited. Remember last year when everyone and their dog was referencing Azzedine Alaia? I think Gigli might be next year’s Alaia. Something about the mystical whirling dervish shapes.
Below, a photo from his new line, io ipse idem.

Also, here is a link to some vintage Gigli on Ebay. And also here.

Guys can really take the fun out of stuff. Records. Bikes. Sneakers. Denim.
They can get so obsessed that they don’t even notice when they take something benign and enjoyable: buying new jeans, and turn it into a dissertation level research project.
I feel this way about men’s fashion blogs. There is something very boring about men discussing clothes. And before the fellas get all huffy about it think about this, have you ever sat around and listened to your girlfriend and her friends talk about yoga? Or probiotic yogurt? It’s kinda like that.

Great Dames part 3- Martha Rosler.
I tend to forget that feminists can be funny. That’s why you should go see the Wack show at the VAG, there are a lot of laughs to be had.
I just watched Martha Rosler’s video Semiotics of the kitchen. Hilarious. I saw this video a few years ago at the Tate Modern and I didn’t enjoy it. But I now realize that I didn’t have any humour on me that day.

I saw My Bloody Valentine last week and every character looked like someone I know. Hipsters… they have totally embraced tar pond chic.
